50 Girlcrushes of 2013: Nicole da Silva Franky Doyle is one fascinating character. She lives by her own moral code. The things she does are never right but they are just. If Franky Doyle had another kind of life - one that didn’t involve abuse and abandonment - she might have been a great politician, a lawyer and activist or something that channeled her passionate nature into something that could have changed lives. Franky is ruthless ferocity who has a gift for manipulation and using people as a means to an end, but she cares passionately about her friends and will risk everything to protect them. But Franky doesn’t want to be top dog out of some pure benevolence, she craves it because she loves power and she loves the game. While she would use her power for good - occasionally when it suits her needs - she knows the only way to truly protect yourself in Wentworth is to run the show. This is what I love about her, this duality in her nature. She can be someone capable of great warmth and caring, but also someone who can break your fingers and enjoy every second of it. Nicole da Silva is excellent at being absolutely ruthless and absolutely charming. You understand why people would gravitate towards Franky. You understand why someone like Erica would allow herself to be charmed by her and it was hard to walk away from their relationship even though Erica knew she was playing with fire. With someone like Franky, you kind of don’t mind getting burned.
